in the recent Disciples Together regional newsletter:

Be Bold CHURCH

We Disciples come from many directions and hold different beliefs on so many things, but on the issue of Racism and Hate we must be clear. It is wrong and is a sin against God the creator of all!

I learned this growing up in my home church and at church camp and I have taught my son those same lessons of how Jesus constantly reached out to the OTHER and went across the sea and pushed through the human barriers that allow us to hate or treat others as if we were not created by the same God.

We Disciples must make it clear with every breath we take that we mean it when we say that ALL ARE WELCOME AT THE TABLE.

Be bold CHURCH and let the world see us at our best - the Church Jesus called us to be.

I call upon all clergy and laity to make it clear in sermons, on church signs, in our front yards, and on our social media presence that RACISM and HATRED is wrong and against GOD.

We can disagree about many things but on this we must be united!
