The Spirit of God is moving! An exciting opportunity presented itself to us at Capitol Hill when I received a call from a person wanting to use a room in our building for AA meetings for a newly-forming group of women that would meet on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30.
This possibility was especially exciting for me because just 24 hours earlier I attended my Pastoral Care Specialist class which focused on addictions and co-dependency. It highlighted many of the "Anonymous" programs, about which I was pretty naïve.
And then this opportunity calls the very next day! Isn't God good!!!!
I contacted the congregational officers and got an enthusiastic response to proceed. So I did!
I am delighted to have received this phone call and this opportunity to live out our mission statement to "spread God's love, hope, and joy!"
Women of Resilience, an open AA group, met in our building for the first time on Saturday, October 20. I rejoice with you to welcome them! I am delighted that God led these wonderful women to us.
God dumps blessing upon blessing into our lives. I know that’s true but still find it amazing each time it happens. How many times do you and I stand in the way and not receive the blessing? I am so grateful that this time we extended open arms to receive the gift God had for us.
May we enter this season of Thanksgiving with open hearts and arms. God’s Spirit is moving! Let us welcome this movement with gratitude!
Joining You in Giving Thanks,
Candice
